The employees discipline law in kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided for the principle of proportionality between the disciplinary sanction and the financial or administrative offense..
the researcher aimed to clarify the essence and nature of the above principle which was stipulated by the law.
the researcher used the descriptive approach by displaying the data and analyzing its content.
one of the results obtained was that the disciplinary bodies were bound to choose the disciplinary sanction for the offense committed without too much harshness or excessive compassion, second, the application of the principle of proportionality between the disciplinary decision and the offense limited the extensive discretionary power of the disciplinary bodies to impose the sanctions, third, the proportionality strengthening the principle of legitimacy and the rule of law, by protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals and the achievement of the public interest.
