, his Sunnah).

Allah has facilitated to me writing this research that highlights the Sunnah of ProphetMuhammad concerning the basic elements of family foundation that must be taken into consideration before choosing one's spouse.

That is because thefamily- life is one of the most important aspects of our life.

If people adhere to the instructions ofProphet Muhammad regarding such issue, they will lead a healthy happy life.

I have assembled the materials ofthisresearch via reading and examining the books of Sunnah, Sirah (the Prophet's biography), Tafsir (exegesis of the meanings of the Qur'an) and theexplanations of Hadiths throughout many years to issue it in such form.

The research contains an introduction, a preface, five subjects, a conclusion and a table of contents.

In the introduction, I have clarified the importance and the theme of this research besides the approach adopted toit.

In thepreface, I have stated the definition of "the family".

In the first subject, I have illustrated the significance of choosing the good and pious spouse for it is one of the basic reasons of family's stability.In the second subject, I have mentioned the basis prescribed by Al-Shar'iyyah when choosing the right spouse and the required qualification of the good wife.

In the third subject, I have explained the basis prescribed by Al-Shar'iyyah when choosing the right husband.

In the fourth subject,I have made mentionof Prophet Muhammad's way of giving the full freedom of choosing one's spouse and how he practicallyapplied this with his daughters.

In the fifth subject, I have written about the importance of the equivalence between wife and husband in all aspects, which helps in having a happy peaceful family- life.

In the conclusion, I have included the most significant results and recommendations of the results.
