The impact of information technology on the performance of Jordanian banks

Abstract EN

The purpose of this thesis seeks to examine the impact of adopting IT on the performance of Jordanian banks listed in Amman Stock Exchange for a period of five years (2005-2008).

In order to achieve this goal, a questionnaire (qualitative approach) was administered for the sake of the evaluation of IT in the banking sector.

Meanwhile, the performance was estimated by the use of some financial ratios.

By the adoption of ANOVA and regression analyses to depict the possible relationships in the collected data, evidence about the non-relationship between IT and bank performance in Jordanian banks was shown.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the performance of banks in Jordan can be explained by other topics instead of IT investment
