Abstract EN

The caliph of al-Nasir li-din Allah (575-622 h/ 1180-1225 c) is the 34th Abbasid caliph who predecessor by his father.

this research concern to analyse the collection coins from this caliphate.

the studying coins are 9 of the golden dinars from the period of caliph of al-Nasir li-din Allah which are reserved for the instant in the museum of sulaymaniyah.

this research presents a collection of real information about; political and economic situations during the reign of the caliph of al-Nasir li-din Allah that was happen between (575-622 h), which was the longest caliphate period among the caliphs of the Abbasid caliphate.

the oldest dinar for this research minted in (585 h) that could be a rare dinar (unique) because Mr Kadhim hasn’t indicated the coins of that year in his thesis of master from the museum of Bagdad, therefor that meant these coins have been minted in that year are few and rare.

in addition the oldest dinar of this research has been minted in (517h).

the used script types for the writing on the dinar of the caliph of al-Nasir li-din Allah were some different scripts such as like; (simple Kufic, leafy Kufic, flowered Kufic, transcription Kufic), the inscriptions include the name and the nickname of the caliph and the text of shahada with verses of the Quran with the date plus year and place of minted.

i analysed the types of inscriptions in special table.

however, we also analysed the geometric decoration motifs which presents some simple circles.

in the end of my research, i have prepared special catalogue for all the dinars which include the analytical components of dinars.
