Abstract EN

This paper aims at reaching some structure semantics of the Novel of "Mikhlat As-Sarab" by Nuriddin Al-Alawi through extracting the diagram conveying that structure by various views in the novel.

first, the concept of story structure is introduced and so is the conception of the researcher regarding the transmission of such concept through time.

then, the story of the novel is told by mentioning the most important incidents of it.

also, many other diagrams expressing the story structure are extracted through the application of the character structure analysis on the level of the tempo-spatial components with a focus on the major events in order to understand the varieties of semantics.

the study lias concluded many results where six diagrams concerning the story structure are extracted.

the first diagram shows the discrepancies of characters' attitudes between past and present towards the stranger other, whether the latter being an occupier or tourist.

the second diagram expresses he differences of the natures of the characters within the minor space of the novel, i.e.

the house of the grandfather ( ben-outran).

both the third and the fourth diagrams are meant to describe the dimensions of two characters: Khaliah, the friend of Ahmed,(the central character) and Qasim ,the martyr, the friend of the grandfather.

the narrator makes a variety of both the vision and the attitudes using both the characters and makes a too! out of their difference to reach the poetics of the story structure.

the fifth diagram is about the central characters of the novel within the space of Tunisian Duz district in whichthe events take place.

the sixth diagram shows how the narrator diagnoses the female in the novel, and how she is viewed and dealt with.

by the end of the study, the researcher attempts to understand the dimensions of the paratexts and the message presented by the author through them.

the researcher comes with a different vision about some characters especially the grandfather and the grandson, which make the presence of the two characters more realistic.
