Abstract EN

The study aimed at ascertaining the effectiveness of the Montessori and Portage programs in improving the social skills of the mentally handicapped.

The study sample consisted of (14) children between 6:10 years divided into two groups.

A dish applied by the Montessori, and | n / 7 | A dish with a portage .Study Tools: The study was implemented through a set of tools, namely the Stanford Scale, the Fifth Scale, the Social Skill Scale, as well as the two programs.

The results found that the two programs were effective in developing social skills.

Montessori program was more effective in developing social skills among the mentally handicapped.
