Abstract EN

Objective: The of the study is to know the relationship between empathy and tolerance, and the differences due to some demographic variables (environment- age- education) in empathy and tolerance.

Method & procedures: A sample consists of 100 females in age of (20-60) each group consists of 50 females with 29.9 as average age for females from rural side, and 50 females for female from urban side with 31.26 as average age.

the study applied empathy’s scale for Mehrbain & Ebstien 1992 translated by Abd Al- Aal Agwa, and tolerance’s scale for Jasim Eide 2010.

Result :there is a significant correlation between empathy and tolerance.

And there were no differences in empathy according to demographic variables except on the ability to get affected by positive feelings sub- scale for urban side , there were no differences in tolerance according to demographic variables.
