Abstract EN

This study dealt with the electronic news websites and their role in the political participation for the Egyptian youth by applying on sample of the university youth who use the Internet between the ages of 18-29 years from Cairo University and 6th October University for Literature and Modern Sciences from the medical, engineering, mass communication, Education, and also the sample of websites: which includes the sites of the Al youm7, Al-Masry Al-Youm and the Facebook page of the two sites.

The study uses survey method and questionnaire to answer the study question and Achieving research hypotheses.

The study relied on theoretical frame work on the uses gratifications theory and Mass Media Dependency to determine the motivation of young people to use these news sites and innovations that are consistent with the youth's motivations, needs and psychological characteristics, which differ from one person to another in order to achieve their expected expectations Which is consistent With the subject of the study.
