Abstract EN

This research was aimed to study theeffect of interaction between cognitive style (Field Dependence and Independence) and academic specialization on reading speed andreading comprehension ratio among University students, the research sample consisted of (117)undergraduate student in Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University free of visual disturbances, Group Embedded figures test (GEFT) Wainwright test (2009) (960 words)was conducted.Data was analyzed bycorrelation coefficients, Mann-Whitney,and ANOVA two way by (SPSS), results showed significant differences in reading speed according to academic specialization(legit, literary, scientific) and cognitive style, and the lack of impact of the interaction between academic specialization and cognitive styles (dependence/independence from field) on each of the reading speed and comprehension rate.
