تأثير العامل المناخي في بعض خصائص التربة و تكوينها في سهل حوران

Abstract EN

In order to evaluate the important role of climate on soil formation, three different locations (Nawa, Dael and Nasib) in southern part of Syria, representing the North West, Middle and Southern parts of Hauran Plateau were selected and differ mainly in the amount of annual precipitation and relatively with other factors.

Three profiles, replicated three times, were prepared one profile for each area.

Results indicated that the climate factor controls several Pedogenetic processes, as well as some chemical and physical properties of the soil, mainly swelling and shrinking, CaCO3 distributions, texture, structure, soil color, CEC and soil pH.

It was also noticed that there was an increase in the pH values and CaCO3 percentage and decrease in the CEC and soil content of available micro elements from northern to southern of the plateau.

Generally, the study showed that the soil of Hauran plateau undergoes three main soil processes; swelling and shrinking, leaching and alteration.
