Winter chilling requirements are critical for flowering and fruiting of many fruit species, with evidence that pistachio has been adversely affected by warm winter, so that estimating chilling and heat requirements is crucial for identifying appropriate cultivars for given site.

In our study, different levels of chilling hours were applied (500-600-700-800-900-1000-1100-1200-1300-1400 h).

Flowering date separation of the first leaf of vegetative buds, Chilling Requirements Index (CRI) and Growing Degree Hours (GDH) were estimated.

Results showed that the best correspondence between Ashoury and Adam cultivars was at chilling requirements ranged from 900-1200 hours and accumulated heat was 10312-11755 for Ashoury cultivar and 8862.7-10523.7 for Adam cultivar.

The best correspondence between Batoury and Adam cultivars was at chilling requirements ranged from 1000-1200 hours and heat accumulation from 13258-14221 for Batoury and from 8862.7- 10138 for Adam.

The CRI was for Ashoury cultivar at 1200 h treatment (2.4) with significant differences at 99%.
