Abstract EN

The genetic variation among 10 barley genotypes was assessed using Simple Sequence Repeat technique with 22 primers.

The total number of all alleles resulted from the primers was 151 alleles, 149 of these alleles were polymorphic (95.45%), while two primers were monomorphic.

Polymorphic information content (PIC) values ranged between 0.337 using primer scssr10148 to 0.788 using the primers scssr15864 and scssr20569.

The average of (PIC) was 0.586.

The values of genetic diversity ranged from 0.374 using primer scssr10148 to 0.876 using the primers scssr15864 and scssr20569.

The lowest genetic relationship was observed between the wild relative Hassaka and Amman, and between the variety Acsad176 and the wild relatives Amman (0.06), while the highest relationship was recorded between the land races Acsad1602 and Acsad1182 (0.29).
