Abstract EN

Climate change that the earth face in recent time make degradation in environment and unstable in desertification, meanwhile, there is increasing in the population.

All of those increase the pressure on the available water resources.

Therefore, water harvesting techniques be more notice recently spatially in the desert regions to save underground water.

The aims of this study is to contribution to protect the water resources in the Hajjah city district.

Analysis the geology, morphology and hydrology characteristics of basins within the study area using GIS techniques and field visit notes for rainfall harvesting to recharge ground water in Sharis basin and Kaifa basin.

This study indicated that there are some locations could implemented for that purpose.

In addition, the study area have been classified to five sub basins (valleys), tow within Sharis basin ( Ain Ali valise and Wadi Alhoshar valley) and three within Kaifa basin (Wadi Qorban valley, East Abs valley and West Abs valley).
