Abstract EN

This study aimed to determine the reading comprehension skills in reading passages' exercise.

It measured the degree of that exercise considering the reading comprehension skills within the identified levels (verbal, deductive, critical, appreciation and creative).

To achieve this goal, a preliminary list of reading comprehension skills and a content analysis form were designed, and specialists judged the validity of it.

The list reading comprehension skills contained (25) skills.

the final result of the search clarified that the skills of verbal level obtain (59.7 %) the highest percentages, while the skills of appreciation level didn't exist in the reading passages exercise.

Nevertheless, the rest of skills measured with low percentages.

The deductive level obtains (25.2 %), the critical level obtains (11.8 %), and the creative level obtain (3.4 %).

In the light of the search's result, a conception of reading passages' exercise that can remedy weakness was proposed
