Abstract EN
The research aims to measure the degree of employment of teachers of National Education of current events in the teaching of secondary education from their point of view and through observation in the classroom.
The researcher used the descriptive analytical method .The research was conducted on a random sample of teachers of national education at the secondary level in public schools of the city of Damascus, the number of members (53) female and male teacher s on whom the questionnaire was applied.
Then, the researcher selected a random sample from the previous one and it consisted of (20) teachers on whom the observation card was applied.
The questionnaire consisted of two domains of utilizing current events in teaching(political and national field and professional teaching field).In addition, an observation card was used to know the degree of employment of teachers of current events in teaching.
The results of the study showed that the teachers utilized the current events with a high degree and the domain of the teaching profession got the first rank, from the teachers' point of view in accordance with the questionnaire and the observation card in the classroom.
The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of teachers about employing current events in teaching according to the variables of gender and experience and scientific specialization from their point of view and through the observation in the classroom.
The results also indicated the presence of a statistically significant difference between the mean scores about utilizing current events in teaching from teachers' point of view and through observation in the classroom in favour of their scores on the questionnaire.
The study recommended activating the use of current events and using them in the classroom in the substance of National Education
