Abstract EN

This study aims to measure the impact of the public spending on growth in the Algerian economy during the period (1970-2015) using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Models, The experimental results revealed a positive influence and significant of the total public spending on the economic growth at the short term.

At the long term, the impact of the total public spending is negative on economic growth but not significant.

These results indicate the ineffectiveness of the public spending as a tool to stimulate and support economic growth, which requires a review of the policies pursued in spending.
