Abstract EN

This study is unique in its field.

For a long period of time, traditional studies have dominated the course of poetry.

However, due to cultures mixing; critical and literary schools have emerged, so that it could enrich literature and poetry in particular.

Literary scholars in the Maghreb have excelled as they have studied ancient literature according to modern theories.

They have produced very useful studies.

In addition to that, many behaviors through modern methods have been emerged.

I have used in my research, «the rhythm of sad semiotics in the poetry of Anastra Abssi,» the same style used by some scholars of modern and old literature.

Reading through Antra’s poems and his Diwan, I have looked at the methods of grief and its motives.

All of this was carried out according to the critical approach based on poems dismantling and construction.

Also; I have explored the role of the sign «semiotic» in the clarification of some of the ambiguity in his poem.

I found out that the motives of grief in his poem are reflected in: the color of his skin (black), his love for his cousin Abla, the attempts of those who envy him to doubt his knighthood, and finally his tribe’s lack of recognition of his good favor to them.
