Abstract EN

This study explores Classical Arabic syntactic structures come under one semantic function "neverization", (known in Arabic as T'abeed).

This structure was labelled by some ancient scholars as "abadeyat" according to multiplicity of structures, others labelled it as "T'abeed" according to unity of significance.

The study opts for the term "T'abeed " because it is more common and consistent with the term "form".

T'abeed is considered as 'style' only for its similarity to other forms like interrogation.

Interrogation is a form that includes structures in different forms, and the same applies to T'abeed.

The study collects 45 samples signify T'abeed.

Thus, the study introduces what can be referred to as structural synonyms.

Such forms always have different lexicons but signify the same objects The most salient feature in this structures is negation.

All of them are in negative form except two .

The negation article "V" is the most common one.

Only one structure lacks "V".

This one used V" as a negation article.

The verbs negated by "V" are often in present tense.

While Only one verb is in past tense.

The negated action is often in the form of "J*^".

The context of situation is essential in understanding the significance of the structure.

The significance of T'abeed is various ranging from negative which phrased in negative form; to positive which phrased in affirmative form; and absoluteness in which the significance is not confined; to restricted in which the significance is conditioned.

Restricted T'abeed, which is the common, has two patterns: the one that uses "l*"; and the other uses "^-".

The first one the more common.

The significance of the lexical items appeared in these structures are not inherent, rather they gained their significance form the structure.

Many of T'abeed structures in the Arabic culture became proverbs which means that these structures are very common.
