Abstract EN

A new variant of Boolean analysis, called Coincidence Analysis, can be used, instead of Bayesian networks, in causal reasoning that uncovers deterministic causal structures.

This analysis identifies deterministic dependencies of sufficiency and necessity in the given data, minimizes these dependencies to form minimal theories in order to eliminate redundancies, and then causally interpret these minimal theories.

This note presents a Karnaugh-map exposition and interpretation of coincidence analysis.

A definite advantage of the Karnaugh map is that it allows one to reach minimal theories immediately without wasting effort and time pondering its constituent non-minimal ones.

In map jargon, the map constructs prime-implicant loops without dwelling much on its constituent non-prime ones.
