This study aimed at identifying the level of students’ satisfaction regarding their curriculum at the University of Taibah (hereafter TaibahU), and whether or not taught curriculum meet students’ immediate and future needs.
The following research questions were formulated in an attempt to achieve the objectives of the study: To what extent are TaibahU students satisfed with their curriculum? To what extent do certain variables (gender, college, GPA) impact students’ level of satisfaction about the curriculum? To what extent do curricula meet students’ immediate and future needs? To what extent do the level of satisfaction about these needs vary in accordance with the aforementioned variables (Gender, College, GPA).The researcher used descriptive method on the sample study of 400 TaibahU students (males and females) selected randomly based on Robert Mason Formula.
The study tool is a survey of 48 parts divided into two parts.
The frst part is dedicated to measure students’ satisfaction with curriculum in terms of its content, teaching methodologies, assessment, and environment.
The second part is devoted to measure the extent to which the curriculum meets the students’ immediate and future needs.
Results reveal an average level of satisfaction (1.98) and relative weight of (0.66) about curriculum in the 4 variables (content, methodology, assessment, and environment).
As to meeting students’ immediate and future needs, the simple moving average was 2.05.
In light of these results, the paper highlights the importance of students and academic staff’s participation in designing and developing their own curriculum.
