Abstract EN

Muslim scholars and Jurisprudents played an important role in setting the rules of ethics from an Islamic perspective.

The concept of "obligation and responsibility" is an important factor in governing man’s dealings and transactions, by attaching reward and punishment to them.

The current study aims at defining the rules governing the concept of “obligation and responsibility” by identifying it in terms of Islamic Law and faith.

The study adopts the analytical method by analyzing the concept of “ethical obligation and responsibility” from the perspective of Scholars of Jurisprudence and Hadith.

After that, the concept will be examined in some Qur’anic and Hadith texts by linking it to the issue of “Iamn” (i.e.

Faith).

The results of the study highlights the importance of the concept of “Obligation and Responsibility” and its relationship with Muslim’s faith and the consequent reward and punishment.
