Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the services and quality of life in the city of Irbid, and to evaluate the citizens satisfaction on the utilities and services provided to them.

The sample size of the study consisted of (383) households distributed within the seven administrative areas of Irbid (Al-Hashemiah, Al-Nasr, Al-Rawdah, Al-Nozha, Al-Manara, and Al-Rabieh), The overall results showed that the level of quality of life in the city was median with an average value of (2.64) and a standard deviation of (0.66).

The levels of the quality of life in all sectors ranged from medium to low.

For instance, the sectors of security, internet service, telecommunications, commercial services, education and infrastructure were having the level median.

While the sectors of health, cleanness, environment, housing, and entertainment were having low level of the quality of life.

Also, the results showed statistical significant differences between average values at the city level and at each sector at the significance level of (a = 0.05).

These differences might be due to the variables of the gender and infrastructure for females, and due to the age of people under 30 years of age.

However, the absence of statistical differences might be due to other variables including nationality, job, educational level, housing, and housing ownership.
