Abstract EN

This study addresses a basic and essential aspect of the asylum issue which is the refugee's rights and obligations where this study initially shows the sources from which the refugee's rights are derived from.

These sources have been divided in this study into general and specialized sources.

Then, this study demonstrated the refugee's rights which also have divided into general rights and special rights.

The general rights are the right of "non-discrimination", the right of living, the right of not being subject to torturing, and hard, inhuman or humiliated treatment, and the right of not being subject to slavery and servitude and similar practices.

The special rights are the right of protection from forced return back to home country, the right of protection from punishment due to illegal entrance to any country, the rights of getting ID and travel documents and the right of getting a paid job.

Then, this study showed the refugee's obligations in terms of its nature and type where the study clarified how the refugee's obligations are very limited and restricted in comparison of his rights.

The study confirms and assures that the priority is granting the refugees their rights and that such rights occupy the broadest area in the refugees issue, while obligations occupy only very narrow area in this issue.

Then, this study concludes with the most significant results and recommendations.
