Abstract EN
The present study aimed to verify the effect of a counseling program based on PASS theory - cognitive theory in the development of cognitive processes: Planning, Attention, Simultaneity, Succession, in the category of slow learners, at the primary school level in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The final study sample consisted of 20 students from the fourth, fifth and sixth grades of the primary school, aged 9 - 11 who have been diagnosed as slow learners by a psychologist at Prince Sultan Schools, Jeddah in the academic year 2012-2013 AD.
The methodology of the study was the Empirical method of one group design of two pre and posttests, and to measure the difference between the average scores of the students in the two tests, the researcher used statistical test (T-TEST).
The results ascertained the validity of the hypotheses of the study, which considers the existence of differences between the two average scores of the two pre and post applications in each process of Planning, Attention, Simultaneity, Succession, and the total score of the four processes.
But there are some sub-tests, test of attention solution and unscramble test because there is no difference between the two averages of the group in the two pre and post applications and no difference in the simultaneity test of non-verbal matrices, did not show a difference between the two averages of the group in the two pre and post applications in total tests in the three tests of simultaneity process of (non-verbal matrices, spatial verbal relations and shapes memory).
