Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the role of Arabic Fonts in the development of the typographic performance.

The researcher used the descriptive approach (analytical) to the nature of the study problem.

The researcher analyzed the opinions of the six researchers through the study tool (interview/consultation), who represent the study samples.

The study found that the evolution of typographic performance can only be achieved by improving the aesthetic and functional values in the Arabic Fonts by developing specific principals and standards that govern their industry in accordance with the general framework and guidelines of the study, creating the appropriate environment for this development academically, professionally and socially.

So, Arab typography can play its role in preserving and spreading Arab, Islamic culture and heritage.

The study recommended the need to formulate, publish and disseminate the rules and standards governing professional practices and regulations in this field.

It also recommended the design of new computer programs to generate the Arabic Fonts with the Arabic grammar and writing rules.
