Abstract EN

This study aimed to assess the practice of performance appraisal in Saudi banking sector; as well as identifying the degree of organizational commitment that prevailed among the employees in this sector.

in addition, the study aimed at exploring the relationship between performance appraisal practice and organizational commitment with its three dimensions(standard commitment, continuous commitment, and emotional commitment).

the study adopted the descriptive analytical method; whereas the study sample included (47) employees from the banking sector in kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

in order to collect the study data a questionnaire was designed after testing its validity and reliability to fulfill the study objectives.

the most important findings of the study indicated that organizational commitment is highly prevailed among employees; as well as the existence of a significant relationship between performance appraisal practice and organizational commitment with its all dimensions.

the most important recommendations of the study urge the administrations of the banking sector in kingdom of Saudi Arabia to conduct a fair performance appraisal for their employees if they want to increase their level of organizational commitment.
