Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to explain the dependence of the Algerian economy on the revenues of the hydrocarbon sector, which had been affected by fluctuations in oil prices.

moreover, to identify the importance and the role of small and medium enterprises in achieving economic development ; and include them as a strategic option to evade the current crisis in order to achieve the stability of the economy.

the study main findings indicated the positive role played by small and medium enterprises in increasing the labour productivity, thus, increasing effective aggregate demand on both consumer and investment goods.

in addition, the findings indicated that the contributions of these enterprises in gross domestic product has shown continous rising trends during the period 2010-2015.
