English Abstract
This study aims to provide an empirical evidence on the determinants of entrepreneurs’ intention to quit in Jordan by employing the specifics of Self Determination Theory (SDT).
It primarily seeks to examine individuals’ motivational dynamics, wellbeing, and intention to quit in the field of entrepreneurship in Jordan.
The population of this study is comprised of working-age Jordanians and non-Jordanians who are engaged in entrepreneurial activity in different cities in Jordan.
A sample of 450 respondents completed a questionnaire that was designed for this study yielding a response rate of 72%.
Responses were analyzed using SPSS 19.0, and AMOS 20.0 for Structural Equation Modeling.
Results indicate that there is a significant relationship between wellbeing and intention to quit.
Intention to quit is diminished when individuals report higher levels of wellbeing.
This relationship was studied within a comprehensive model that tackled individual motivations along with wellbeing and satisfaction levels.
