English Abstract

-Electronic Healthcare (E-Healthcare) service is an important and inevitable technology that the healthcare sector is gradually adopting, to provide quality healthcare services to patients.

The advent of new technologies, such as cloud computing, video conferencing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for patients will help these systems become more popular.

The purpose of this thesis, is to utilize these technologies to present a framework for an E-Healthcare system that is both flexible and scalable, in order to be suitable for a wide range of facilities in Jordan and other places around the globe with different budget levels.

The solution should utilize the most affordable components that provide an excellent quality of service.

We achieved that by studying and analyzing the currently available solutions, both domestically and globally, to find the gaps in these solutions and get a clear picture of what we wanted to do, we then identified the parties that interacted with such systems, they are doctors, patients, IT professionals, nurses, management, and healthcare systems providers.

We then proceeded to design a survey that covered the previously mentioned technologies to get feedback from these parties, the surveys were tailored according to the type of person that was being questioned.

Once the surveys were designed, we started to conduct the survey by gaining governmental approval to conduct the study in governmental facilities across Jordan and seeking approval from private sector healthcare facilities.

We managed to cover sixteen hospitals in eight cities like Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Madaba, Tafilah, Mafraq, Sahab, and Karak.

The gathered data were analyzed in order to reach conclusions that helped us design the framework for the system.

We designed frameworks based on the type and level of service the facility wanted to offer and the budget they had, as such, we had two types of frameworks, one that focused on using video conferencing for medicine, and the other focused on Electronic Health Records.

Both used cloud computing to host the service, we also showed frameworks belonging to the previously mentioned types, that added new services to the system like incorporating IoT into the system, while using components that would allow the facility to offer the service with the minimum budget possible, we also focused on privacy and security by suggesting measures to keep the system secure and under the control of the facility, because privacy and security and keeping the cost down, were the most important feedbacks we got from the study
