Gourara region in the south of Algeria in Touat ; by the ninth century AH, the movement of urbanization and stability in the region, which was the locus of the invaders, began to flourish in the desert road linking the north and the south ; to and from Sudan.

The controler of the region controls the desert trade and the axis of exchange.

As the trading movement, it was a sign of the emergence of the scientific movement in the region, that the children inherit the inheritance of the fathers and that science becomes a tradition in some scientific families of Gourara as the example of Oulad-elquadi in Awlad Said, SidiHadjiBelkacem, SidiMoussa El-Tasfawati and Abdelkabir Al-Matarafi.
