Abstract EN
Death is a phenomenon that occupied human thought in general and the Arab one in particular.
His fear of absolute perishing and his attachment to life as well as his desire to have an eternal life pushes him to knit myths to explain this finality.
The Arab who lined in the pre-Islamic times followed the same ways of thinking of other peoples.
He provided explanations for the soul and felt pessimistic about times which he considered as a cause of death.
Besides, he imagined the existence of a life with different dimensions from those of his own.
The pre-Islamic era was a time without religions explanations for the causality of the existence of man and his role in this life .This caused the Arab man to live a disorderly state of belief which was reflected on his poetry that could be a mirror of his social and religious life.
