Abstract EN

In this study, we try to highlight the methods of modeling business cycles (cyclical fluctuations), which aims at highlighting how they are applied, analyzing their results and the importance of using them as a quantitative method that helps economic policy makers understand and determine the duration and stages of the cycle.

In its content, it dealt with the comparison of the most common methods and showed its shortcomings and their impact on the results of the nomination of the economic cycle obtained.

One of the most important results is the fact that both the Hodric Prescott (HP) and the Passe-Bande (BK) candidate do not differ to derive the duration of the business cycle, but differ in their depth, but their shortcomings require researchers to develop better filter's characteristics.
