This study intends to shed light of the critical educational phenomenon taking place in the educational environment.

It is the matter of private tutoring which cannot be discussed without recalling the reasons for its inception, the positive and negative implications it has on the purpose of education, the unequal opportunity it causes in terms of learning amongst students and their continued education thereof.

This study is put forth to research the reasons behind the resort to private tutoring and to present the impact such a phenomenon has on the educational process.
