Abstract EN

The current study aimed to identify the level of Self-Compassion among of Mothers with Down syndrome children.

In addition, knowing the differences of Self-Compassion according to variables the gender and the age of the child.

In addition, the level of educational and age of the mother, the study used descriptive analytical approach, and to achieve the objectives of the study.

used the self- Compassion scale Neff (2003), the current researcher's translation, , the scale was applied on the total sample (150) or from mothers of children with Down syndrome in the Gaza Strip, and the results showed that mothers of children with Down syndrome have a relatively high level of Self-Compassion.

The results showed no statistically significant differences in the level of SelfCompassion according to each variables the gender and the age of the child and the level of educational and age of the mother.

Results has been interpreted, as well as the recommendations have been developed, Among them were the development of mentoring programs based on cognitive counseling, and religious guidance in the development of self- Compassion among mothers of children with Down's neonatal syndrome
