Abstract EN

This study endeavors at searching for the Character’s revolutionary dimension in Abdullah Rekibi’s Play "The Death of the Tyrants", whose appearance to the Algerian literary scene coincided with the era of colonization.

This effectively resulted in giving it a revolutionary shape and an artistic commitment to cast lighton peoples’ issues and problems despite the conditions characterizing its beginning.

This confirms one thing; the play’s realism would never ignore people’s high expectations of defending liberation ideals, emancipation and inciting people to revolt against the colonial policies, which aimed to annihilate the Algerian identity and to wipe the traits of its personality out.

This orientation towards the revolutionary character is so important that that it contributed to the crystallization of self-awareness and the ideological vision especially with the performance of these works on the stage.
