After the research efforts and scientific techniques dealt with the study on all environmental, economic, social and cultural levels, It is imperative for the countries that embrace them to enact laws and join and implement the conventions concerned with their protection and preservation, because of their impact on the climate and environment on the one hand and the heritage of human and natural, on the other, Therefore, this study is intended to show the importance and legal protection enjoyed in international and internal frameworks, taking the Iraqi Marshlands as a living example of wetlands.
