Abstract EN

The research aims to identify the extent to which IT governance practices and their role in enhancing organizational excellence in universities through the investment in information technology to achieve the educational goals in public and private universities.

The research was carried out by comparing the University of Dhi Qar and Al Ain University with a random sample of 300 employees.

The survey questionnaire was used as a main tool for collecting data, which consisted of two axes: Information Technology Governance and Excellence The data were analyzed through AMOS and SPSS.

The research was based on two main hypotheses: "There is a relationship between the application of IT governance and organizational excellence.

There are also statistically significant differences in applying the dimensions of IT governance practices in public universities compared to civil universities." The research reached a number of conclusions, The two public and private universities under consideration have a vision for IT governance.

Research findings helped practitioners and IT users in the university environment better understand, evaluate, manage, and implement technology governance processes.

Information to succeed their business and then enter the field of competitiveness, and government universities must fund the financial resources for the purpose of developing the information technology infrastructure to enhance organizational excellence, which is available in private universities.
