English Abstract
This paper presents a Z-source inverter drive system for permanent magnet synchronous motor.
A maximum boost control strategy for space vector PWM is presented for controlling the ride though ability of the converter.
By control adjusting of the modulation index value, the shoot-through duty cycle will vary to boost the a.c.
output voltage of the Z-source inverter.
The main benefit of Z-source inverter, is a higher output voltage is obtained compared with the conventional PWM voltage source inverter.
The Z-source inverter topology is more reliable, higher utilization of dc link voltage, limiting rate of fault current and getting better performance of PMSM drive system.
The analysis and simulation using Matlab-Simulink is applied to drive the PMSM.
A wide range of output voltage and the total harmonic distortion of motor current will be low by using the Z-source inverter with SVPWM strategy.
