English Abstract

The Ottoman period is one of the most important historical periods in the history of Algeria.

During this period, the Ottomans was able, in one way or another,to influence theAlgerian societysystem in all its political, cultural and even religious aspects; in which it had introduced new customs and traditions that are exist till today.These traditions varied between the social and religious character and which could be noticed in celebrations such as the birth of the Prophet, Eid al-Fitr, among others.In addition, they are manifestedon the seal of Saheeh al-Bukhari, , namely religious ceremonies, which can be considered as a very important aspect when studying religious life in Algeria during the Ottoman period.

The paper is based onbooks of Algerian travelers and in more particular those of Ibn Hammadush.
