English Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the impact of the self-questioning strategy in the development of creative thinking among fifth graders in the science subject.

To achieve this goal, the researchers set three zero hypotheses, a sample of the research was identified to the fifth-grade pupils for the academic year 2018-2019 at Renwa Basic School in Arbil, which was deliberately chosen.

The experimental design was based on the experimental and control groups with the pre-test and the post-test variables of the creative thinking.

A sample of (50) students was randomly distributed in two groups.

The experimental group consisted of (26) students who studied Science Subject for All according to the self-questioning strategy, the control group (24) students studied Science Subject for All according to the usual method, and the parity between the students of the two groups was carried out in the variables (the average grade in Science Subject for the fourth basic class for the academic year 2017-2018, the age, IQ, creative thinking.

The researchers developed a tool of the Torrance scale for the creative thinking of the visual type, B, and verified its virtual validity by presenting it to a group of arbitrators and specialists.

It also verified its stability by repeating the test.

The total stability coefficient (0.85) Alpha Kronbach (0.80).

The researchers prepared (24) teaching plan for the experimental group and (24) teaching plan for the control group according to the self-questioning strategy and the ordinary method.

The trial began on 8/11/2018 and ended on 22/12/2018.

After the experiment was completed and the tool was applied, the data was extracted using the T-test of the samples and the T-test of the two samples were correlated, the results of statistical significancewere shown at the level of significance (0.05) : 1.

Between the pre- and post-degrees of application of the experimental group in the two applicationsfor the measure of creative thinking and for the benefit of the post application.
