This study aims to find out the trends and levels of traffic accidents and their indicators in Algeria, and to disclose the reasons of their occurrence in order to take the necessary preventive measures to reduce the aggravation, and to consider as well the position of Algeria between the developed and the Arab countries in the field of traffic safety.
Two approaches have been employed in this study: descriptive analytical approach as being a detailed description of the exact information and helps the reveal in the complete and in-depth analysis of the problem under study and the statistical approach by dealing with numbers and rates.
The findings of this study, therefore that the number of traffic accidents in Algeria continues to increase, and the human factor is the main culprit in its occurrence.
Obtained indicators showed the seriousness of incidents committed, and these indicators exceeded those recorded in some developed and Arab countries.
