Abstract EN

The aim of this article is to provide a perception of the global governance phenomenon and other configurations to this concept based on contemporary perspectives of international social theory.

After showing the concept of governance as a transdisciplinary epistemic system, and the globalization phenomenon which characterize contemporary international society, I analyze the various relationships and configurations of the two concepts, in order to develop the movement from the notion of international governance to global governance.

After presenting a general definition to the notion of global governance, we analyze the different paradigms that explain the transformations of global governance, firstly, the paradigm the authoritative coordination by a world state, secondly, the hierarchical though not authoritative coordination: governance under the hegemonic umbrella, thirdly, the order as a result of horizontal selfcoordination: governance without world government.
