This study is an attempt to detect the dynamic effects of the minimum wage on low-wage labour in Algeria, by measuring its impact in the agriculture, fisheries and construction sectors, using annual data for the period 1990-2016 and relying on vector autoregression (VAR).
The results show that an increase in the minimum wage has a positive and dynamic effect on employment, especially in sectors were low wage labor is widespread.
