Abstract EN

This study aims to study the role of corporate governance in activating the banking risk management in Algerian banking institutions.

A questionnaire was used for this purpose, which was distributed to public and private banks operating in the Algerian banking sector.

The study found that the impact of corporate governance on banking risk management differs from public banks from private banks.

In public banks, the impact of corporate governance on banking risk management is low, but in private banks there is a clear effect between the two variables.

Generally, there is weak implementation of the principles of banking governance in the Algerian banking sector, despite the many reforms initiated by the monetary authorities
