The current research aims at clarifying the importance of lines in historical studies and their impact on the field of critical approach.

It highlights an important aspect of the methodological aspects of our great historians because of their participation in the field of Arab Islamic intellectual heritage.

Al-Sakhawi, in his book Bright Light, this by focusing on the lines that were represented in the importance of a wide area of being one of the resources of this book, and thus highlight the types of lines in which our historians dealt in writing their manuscripts, and highlights this trend through the translations of his book Which was included texts focused on highlighting the scientific and intellectual output of the interpreter in the ninth century AH.
