Abstract EN

This study examines the trends of the Sunni Arab elite in the western and northern governorates in particular, towards a number of issues that are problematic for the Iraqi state and nation.

Using the methodology of the field survey and the methodical interview tool, the study reached the faults and delays in building the state and its institutions, such as dealing with the citizens and the directions of some of the organs politically and culturally, in addition to imbalances in the powers granted to the provinces and others.

The study also found a correction in the attitudes of the society in these areas toward the sectarian and national levels in the introduction to rediscovering the national identity of the Iraqi pluralistic spectrum.

The movement of large displacement from the Sunni Arab regions to the rest of Iraq and the mixing and communication with various groups of society played a key role in this new trend, which was reflected politically in overcoming alliances of sectarian nature in the recent parliamentary elections.
