At a time of megacity, walkability or walkability is at the heart of urban planners' concerns.

This is the value of urbanity, in order to seek to design more adequate urban forms at the pedestrian scale and the practice of walking.

To understand the impact of the built environment on the practice of walking, we opted to study at the level of the city center of Constantine, which includes two different urban forms, and its strong urban dynamics, always suffocates under the weight of intense and uncontrolled pedestrian mobility and its particularly congested space.

For this, we made a diagnosis of walkability, based essentially on various tools: observations, counts, audit, survey.

The research results show that at the level of the city center of Constantine, walkability not reduced to the built environment which is a fundamental element for the smooth running of the walk, Indeed, the combination of many external factors influence the choice of pedestrian movements: such as the reasons for travel, place of residence, etc.
