Abstract AR

Abstract EN

The present study was designed to determine the effect of dietary Biogen on some hematological, biochemical parameters and antibody titer of catfish (Clarias gariepinus).

A total number of 150 catfish (Clarias gariepinus) of both sexes were used in this experiment.

Fish were classified into 3 groups according to concentrations of Biogen to the diet ; first group without Biogen served as control, second and third groups received 1g / kg diet and 2g / kg diet of Biogen, respectively for 45 days.

This study was divided into two experiments.

The first experiment was carried on 90 fish which used for determination the effect of Biogen on total and differential leukocyte count and liver enzymes.

The second experiment was carried on 60 fish which used for determination the effect of Biogen with vaccination on catfish.

A significance increase in AST and ALT levels were observed in treated groups when compared to the control group.

The hematological alterations for total leukocyte count indicated stimulation of immune response by increasing WBCs level in blood of treated groups as compared to non-treated control.

The best concentration was noticed in group supplemented with 1g / kg.

Also, antibody titer to Aermonas hydrophila indicated an increase in supplemented fish groups when compared to the control.
