Abstract EN

This study seeks to extrapolate connotations and meanings of the death in the az-zahrawain (Al-Baqara and Al Imran), based on places of their mentioning in specific verses of Surah Al-Baqara and Al Imran, illustrating the linguistic and terminological meaning of death, and revealing death connotation and correlations.

The inductive approach was used through extrapolating places where death was mentioned in az-zahrawain, clarifying their qur’anic explanations in interpretation (Tafseer) books, followed by the analytical approach through recognizing interpreters’ analysis and interpretations for death concepts, meanings, connotations and correlations.

The researcher sought to make clear the impact of the death in the human life.

The study concluded that Allah’s wisdom has preordained death to be a lesson for all humans to reflect on before meeting him.

Therefore, death is frequently mentioned in the holy quran and is linked to semantic and rhetoric relations and moral correlations.

Of the rhetoric connotations are the simile, corroboration and metonymy.

The moral connotations of death varied according to their context mentioned in az-zahrawain through interpretors’ books.
