The research paper aims at examining the relationship of strategic thinking to organizational performance in the Jordanian insurance companies which are registered in Amman Stock Exchange from the point of view of managers in the companies surveyed.

In order to achieve this, the researcher designed a questionnaire to collect preliminary data from the study population.

The study population consisted of 27 insurance companies.

81 questionnaires were distributed, i.e.

3 questionnaires per company.

For the analysis, 60 questionnaires were selected, (i.e., 74.10% as a response rate), and 21 questionnaires were excluded because they contain a percentage of missing data.The study concluded with a number of results, the most important of which were: A statistically significant correlation between total strategic thinking and organizational performance and its dimensions.

There were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the respondents on the relationship between strategic thinking and organizational performance of the Jordanian insurance companies due to the variables (gender, age, academic qualification, administrative level, and years of experience).

The study also concluded that Jordanian insurance companies have a high level of interest in strategic thinking skills and the dimensions of organizational performance.

The study recommended the need that Jordanian insurance companies should reconsider their organizational structures in their companies because they are considered the main compass that allow the use of strategic thinking skills to increase the level of initiative, creativity and innovation to raise organizational performance
